In this essay, we investigate the intertextual influence of Luceafărul by Eminescu in works written outside Romania and in a language different from Romanian. From this perspective, we consider the poetry of a German speaking author: Paul Celan. We first discuss the presence, in Celan's poem Umsonst malst du Herzen ans Fenster, of numerous elements that stem from Eminescu's hypotext - the star, the mantle, the castle, the love speech - basing our analysis on the comparison between the two works. In the second part, we then reveal that other elements of Luceafărul (especially the star hypostases) migrated into the poems Sprich auch du and Klopf die. This last poem was included in Poème des degrés (Kaddish pour Paul Celan) by Zéno Bianu, as we show in the third part of the essay. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
