Austro-Hungarian Monarchy was created on the basis of the Settlement in 1867 and it was one of the most complex state organization in general, and this was transfre aslo in its Army structurs. Army of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy was organized into three equal parts: the Imperial and Royal joint army, the Austrian home guard (Landwehr) and the Hungarian Home Defense (Honved) with the Croatian Home Guard as a separate organizational unit and the fourth never fully organized, component: folk-Ustasha uprising. Although formally and legally part of the Home Guard, the Hungarian, Croatian Home Guard managed to develop some elements of independence, which primarily reflected in the command Croatian language and Croatian military terminology and insignia and uniform of Croatian Home Guard.
