The studies of carbon dioxide content as an indicator of air quality in the real air environment of passenger railcars and premises of administrative buildings showed that at present the parameters of the microclimate in the compartments and saloons of passenger railcars are inferior to the parameters of residential, office and public premises. In order to increase the comfort level of passenger transportation, it is necessary to increase the supply of fresh outside air into the railcar and upgrade the air conditioning systems in use. Possible sources of heat to provide improved microclimate indicators were considered. Analysis of energy efficiency of sources showed that the most energy efficient solution is reversing the operation of the railcar air conditioning system into heat pump mode, with the possibility of recovery of exhaust air heat. This does not require the railcar to be supplied with recirculation air. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
