Comparative study of chemically and green synthesized cerium oxide nanoparticles and its characterization.

Abstrakt: This contribution reports on the different synthesis methods and the comparative investigation of the main physical properties of CeO2 nanoparticles which can be as small as ∼9 nm in diameter prepared by a completely green process using Osmium Sanctum (green tulsi) leaves extract as an effective chelating and capping agent. The average crystallite size of chemically synthesized CeO2 nanoparticle is found to be nearly 17 nm. Their morphological, structural and optical properties were investigated using various complementary surface/interface characterization techniques. Antimicrobial behaviour of these nanoparticles against various pathogenic bacterial strains is proposed to study further. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
