Power Plant site selection is a structured process developed to identify and acquire suitable lands at an intended area or zone for future power plant development. The process includes, among others, the establishment of mandatory and rejection criteria as well as various site selection assessment parameters with the intention to develop the various attributes that significantly influence the suitability of a site for future power plant development. A workshop was therefore held to establish the criteria as well as parameters for the power plant site selection study. These criteria and parameters later become the principal guideline to identify potential sites for power plant development. This paper will however, only focus on the potential land-use zoning assessment parameter established during the workshop to evaluate and acquire suitable lands for future power plant development.
