Abstrakt: The article reports that the nature of the vasospastic changes associated with hypersensitivity to low temperature due to sympathetic overactivity in Raynaud's phenomenon has concerned many investigators. Few studies have correlated the histologic and fine structural changes with associated functional changes in digital blood vessels in Raynaud's disease. The relationship of these structural changes to the mechanism of Raynaud's phenomenon is not clear, but there is increasing evidence that vascular lesions play an important role in the pathogenesis of scleroderma. Raynaud's phenomenon and Raynaud's disease are often associated with scleroderma. The digital arteries of patients with primary Raynaud's disease are thickened, and sclerodermatous changes usually occur in the skin of the fingers.
