Abstrakt: | A literary criticism of the book "City without People: The Katrina Poems" by Niyi Osundare explores how the hermeneutic theory of literary appreciation is used to depict pictures of pain resulting from Hurricane Katrina. The article focuses on a few topics: hermeneutic theory as a tool for interpreting literary texts, the lack of attention given to pain in Osundare's poetry, and the depiction of psychic pain through vivid imagery in the poems. |
