Abstrakt: Mandibular prognathism in the patients with acromegaly and pituitary gland disorders is a common finding but its co-relation with genetics is unclear. Dental as well as orthopaedic corrections is important in such patients to improve their quality of life. Class III deformities have always brought surprises for orthodontist in terms of treatment planning and execution due to its strong genetic influence. Being a multi-factorial mode of inheritance with multiple genetic loci class III patients have varied clinical features. Co-relation of epigenetic factors makes this deformity more complex. Class III syndrome runs in families due to strong genetic influence and it is also known as Hapsburg deformity (Genetic deformity of mandibular prognathism present in Hapsburg royal family). The current narrative review aims to focus and discuss on the genetic component of Class III problems, to understand the etiology before treatment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
