Alcoholic liver disease is a common and preventable disorder caused by excessive drinking of alcohol. The effects and severity of diseases is depending on the amount of alcohol consumption on daily basis. Alteration in lipid parameters associated with damaging parenchymal cells. Therefore, the present study was taken to assess the level of lipids parameters in patients with 50 chronic and 50 acute liver diseases. Subjects were categorized based on the pattern of their alcohol consumption. Alcohol consumption pattern was determined by the amount of alcohol intake on daily basis. Regular lipid monitoring could be a boon to finding out the pattern of alcohol consumption and the prognosis of diseases. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
