Graph: Graphical Abstract A-C-T-I-O-N items that should be considered in atrial fibrillation (AF) patients suffering an ischaemic stroke while on oral anticoagulation (OAC). Recurrent ischaemic stroke risk was higher in study patients with a history of any stroke prior to randomization when compared with patients without prior stroke. During a median follow-up of 337 days, 74 (6.3%) patients suffered recurrent ischaemic stroke and 235 (20.2%) patients died.[3] As secondary haemorrhagic transformation of the index stroke may have been falsely classified as haemorrhagic stroke, respective frequencies were not reported.
