Abstrakt: Renewable energy resources are the main alternative to fossil energy, various regulations and policies have been set in the target mix for renewable energy development, one of which is bioenergy. Bioenergy through biogas is renewable energy by utilizing various kinds of organic waste such as biomass, human, and animal waste or from a mixture of plants such as palm oil. This management can be used as energy through the anaerobic digestion process. The development of biogas can produce electricity, fuel, and heat energy, but along with its development, various obstacles occur to realize the available potential. Various factors that influence include human resources, prices, and technology. A structured planning procedure is essential to answer these challenges. The management, handling, and utilization of biogas as clean and environmentally friendly energy can solve energy problems in Indonesia. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
