The article cites a study regarding pathophysiologic evaluation of chronic venous stasis with ambulatory venous pressure studies. Chronic venous stasis of the legs is a devastating health problem. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the usefulness of the ambulatory venous pressure in elucidating the precise pathophysiologic anatomy. This has been done in conjunction with ascending and femoral retrograde phlebography. Stasis. Of the 46 patients suspected of having venous stasis of the lower extremity, 1 patient was found to have normal ambulatory venous dynamics. A pattern of deep vein incompetence was found in 13 patients. |
