The results of intracavitary ECG studies in 12 subjects with atrial fibrillation, 6 of whom received an antiarrhythmic drug, are presented. The intracavitary ECG provided a clinical method of studying atrial electrical activity in fibrillation. The intracavitary ECG reveals differences in rate and rhythmicity of atrial activity which surface ECG's do not suggest. These observations suggest that the diagnosis and evaluation of therapeutic response in arrhythmias may be facilitated by the use of intracavitary electrocardiograms. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
