The Covid-19 pandemic has changed the traffic pattern from normal to the new normal situation. The change of people's mobility is implicated in the change of traffic volume and traffic level of service (LOS) in the urban area. This study aims to describe the change of travel behavior during the Covid-19 pandemic using traffic data analysis as a representative of human mobility. The traffic data before the pandemic is collected from previous studies. The traffic data during the pandemic is obtained from CCTV video owned by the Department of Transportation in Banda Aceh, Aceh Province, Indonesia as well as traffic survey in the study area. The data is analyzed using Indonesia Road Capacity Manual (MKJI) 1997. The result shows that social mobility trends decline significantly during the Covid-19 pandemic. The drop in traffic flow affected the intersection level of service (LOS) becoming better during the Covid-19 pandemic. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, the average LOS at the intersections in the study area is E and F, which indicates the level of congestion is moderately high. In contrast, during the covid-19 pandemic, the level of service (LOS) at the intersection in the study area turn into A, B, and C, especially during morning peak hours. LOS A, B, and C signify that the traffic is in stable flow and has the possibility to be in free-flow condition. In the afternoon peak hours, the traffic condition increases slightly, however, the level of service is better compared to before the Covid-19 pandemic [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
