Evaluates the relationship of volume expansion to antihypertensive drug refractoriness and the long-term effects of short term reduction of arterial pressure with maintenance of urinary output in patients with refractory hypertension. Decrease in arterial pressure during drug-induced diuresis as a result of reduced extracellular fluid volume; Re-establishment of sensitivity to hypertensive agents with volume constriction following diuretics; Status of patients following intensive antihypertensive therapy. |
