The effect of community participation on forest health levels (Case study of Sekar Bahari Mangrove Forest Tourism, Margasari village, Labuhan Maringgai district, East Lampung Regency).

Abstrakt: Mangrove forest management is influenced by several factors, one of which is community participation. However, in reality, the current conditions, the community still does not pay attention to the health condition of the forest in managing mangrove forests. This study aims to find out the influence of community participation on the health level of mangrove forests. The location of the plot cluster built in Sekar Bahari Mangrove Forest Tourism, Margasari Village, Labuhan Maringgai Subdistrict, East Lampung Regency, Indonesia. The stages carried out in this study include: conducting interviews with the managing community, measuring the level of mangrove forest health, processing and analyzing the influence of community participation and the level of mangrove forest health. The results showed that the variables that affect community participation in forest health levels are education level, length of stay, income, participation based on participation form, and management stages. The conclusion obtained that there is a positive influence of community participation on the level of forest health in mangrove forest management. So, the more significant or large the value of community participation, the greater the level of health of mangrove forests. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
