The article states that fueled by the awareness of systemic racism and the courage to confront power, the Black Lives Matter movement in U.S. emerged as a potent catalyst for change in the era of COVID-19. It mentions that galvanized by the extrajudicial killing of George Floyd and born out of the exoneration of George Zimmerman in the killing of Trayvon Martin, the movement has transformed into a decentralized network of local chapters united in their mission to address racial inequalities. |
