Pathology serves as the basic foundation of cancer treatment. Accurate biomarker assessment should be done if the patient requires personalized therapy and treatment. Therefore there is a growing need for precision in the histopathology cancer diagnosis. With the advent of digital image analysis, the potential has increased the volume as well as the precision of histomorphological evaluation. Recently major breakthroughs in computational pathology have been aided by machine learning, especially deep learning. In the coming decade, the addition of machine learning into everyday care will definitely be established in the healthcare industry, and histopathology will be at the epicenter of this change. This article emphasizes on the drawbacks and shortcomings of the existing diagnostic methodologies and how employing the advanced methods in breast cancer such as artificial intelligence could help in precision pathology.
