Radiosynthesis of a novel labeled brain tracer, [131I]iodoomberacetam, is described. The optimized oxidation conditions are as follows: substrate amount 100 µg, oxidizing agent (Chloramine-T) amount 100 µg, pH of reaction medium 5.0, reaction duration 30 min, and temperature 35–37°C. Under the optimum conditions, [131I]iodoomberacetam with the highest possible radiochemical purity (98%) was obtained. The brain uptake of [131I]iodoomberacetam was found to be as high as 9.66 ± 0.82% ID/g at 5 min post injection, according to a study of its biodistribution in mice. Thus, radioiodinated omberacetam shows promise as a novel radiopharmaceutical for brain imaging. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
