Abstrakt: The use of electrical energy storage systems opens up new opportunities for improving the quality of electrical operation management and improves the performance of electrical power systems. Today, the new types of storage devices have been increasingly used for energy storage, recently. Among them are electrochemical energy storage, compressed-air storage, superconducting storage and supercapacitors, pumped-storage power plants. A brief review of main storage system types with various development and implementation levels is performed. The main energy storage systems characteristics are presented. They are comparing different energy storage technologies for power industry application. The energy storage possibilities have been determined for steadystate and transient operation in integrated power system of Ukraine. The energy storage are increasingly being used in the practice of power system operation and man agement. This is increasing the power supply reliability of consumers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
