Abstrakt: The interaction between all components of commercial herbicides and metals has not been fully elucidated until now, as herbicide manufacturers cannot fully label all the components in the herbicide formulation. Therefore, studies on their interactions with metal have focused on pure active ingredients of commercial herbicides. This study aims to investigate the possible effects of the active ingredients of pendimethalin and S-Metolachlor, two of the widely used commercial herbicides, and all other unlabeled ingredients on the mobility of Cd and Pb in greenhouse soil over a 210-day period, considering the practical applications of herbicides. The effects of herbicides on Cd and Pb mobility were evaluated according to the changes in the fraction percentages by using statistical analyses. A modified BCR (Community Bureau of Reference, European Commission) sequential extraction procedure was used to determine the fractions of metals in soils. Cd and Pb concentrations were measured by Graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (GF-AAS). Based on the results, it was determined that commercial herbicides formulation both affected the percentages of Pb and Cd fractions in the greenhouse soil and increased the mobility of Cd in the greenhouse soil after a 210-day period. In practical applications, commercial herbicides formulation may change the mobility of metals in the soil by interacting with metals. In order to determine all the theoretical mechanisms of this interaction, there is a need for a very large study covering the commercial herbicides formulation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
