Prevalence of measles virus infection among children in Babylon governorate, 2017-2019: A retrospective descriptive data analysis.

Abstrakt: This study included 309 positive cases who were diagnosed with measles infection among children aged 1 to 10 years of both genders (165 males and 144 females). The data were obtained for each year using secondary surveillance data and evaluated using a descriptive statistical analysis approach.The study results showed that the high rate of measles infection (73.8%) was recorded in 2019. On the other hand, measles virus infection is predominate in age group lessone year for all years of the study period with a total number of 123 (39.8%). So, The patients were 53.4% males and 46.6% females. To summarize the findings, our study found that the reporting rate for measles was greater among male children under the age of one year.A routine immunization program must be examined and strengthened in order to reach all children through a sequence of vaccines that are closely monitored, and to improve data quality in order to eliminate cases of unknown vaccination.
