Looking back to some well-known vanguard experiences, like Vertov's Kinoglaz (whose actuality is stili valid nowadays), the essay aims to partially recon-struct a recent renewed tendency of Italian documentary cinema consisting in the emerge of collective film direction as frequent practice. The phenomenon is delineated focusing on three different examples: Selfie by Agostino Ferrente, Futura by Alice Rohrwacher, Andra Munzi and Pietro Marcello, Sotto lo stesso tempo realized by a group of young directors with the supervision of Costanza Quatriglio. This little corpus of films is interpreted in the light of the last pandemic experience we all lived and that of the different forms of images production in digital era, in order to understand how they contribute to a new idea of authorship.
