Discusses the letter of complaint written by Nicolaus Raimarus Ursus to Emperor Rudolf II against Tycho Brahe's accusations that he had stolen Brahe's world system theory. Background on Ursus' paper "Fundamentum astronomicum," where he presented a geoheliocentric world system, whose similarity to that of Brahe's theory led to the quarrel over plagiarism; Brahe's denouncement of Ursus as a plagiarist and thief through correspondences that were widely copied and circulated in the scientific community; . |
