The article focuses on the representation of female protagonists as castrating women in Hindi cinema, specifically in the films Mom and NH10. It discusses the interchangeability between the phallic and the castrating woman, the problematic categorization of women as phallic, and the destabilization of the psychoanalytical framework by avenging female characters. It argues that the depiction of castrating women in Hindi cinema is an antipode to the Freudian castrated woman. |
