This work mainly explores the idea of the spectrum of the fractional difference operator Δ ν (α) (of order α ∈ R ) over the Banach space ℓ1. The difference operator Δ ν (α) via the sequence x = (xk) is defined by (Δ ν (α) x) k = ∑ i = 0 ∞ (− α) i i ! ν k − i x k − i , where (α)i denotes the Pochhammer symbol, α ∈ R and ν = (νk) is either a constant or strictly decreasing sequence of positive real numbers with some conditions. Sets comprising of the point, the residual and the continuous spectrum of the operator Δ ν (α) on the Banach space ℓ1 are computed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
