The strategy of active housing, aims to create a residential development oriented towards various activities of the residents. This is done through the planning concepts and the physical features of neighborhoods and residential buildings. The active housing contributes to promoting health, well-being, and livability in the community by providing opportunities for daily activity and movement for the residents. It is an integral part of good health. The research also discussed the design of residential constructed environments (residential neighborhoods, streets and building design) due to the dimensions of active housing strategy (Planning and design dimensions) represented by (creating active and health-supporting residential neighborhoods that are more social, more secure, pedestrian-friendly and mixed-use, with emphasizing the interconnected networks of streets and human scale, revitalizing residential buildings, increasing green spaces and access to the various places of the residential community). The research also addressed the characteristics of the urban environment of the active residential neighborhood (enhancing the aesthetic landscape of the neighborhood, the interconnected or connected streets, flexibility, the dynamic of neighborhood housing, accessibility, safety, security, and improving the quality of residential life). The research problem is represented with " the existence of a cognitive need about the active housing strategy in its planning and design dimensions of residential neighborhoods and what is related to their characteristics ".The research concluded that the strategy of active housing positively affects the choices of residents for their varied daily activities, it reduces the risk factors of the inactive lifestyles, integrates the outdoor spaces of social interaction, and enhances them for all age groups, and it also emphasizes a vital and environment-friendly neighborhood design.
