| Abstrakt: |
A case of actinomycosis affecting multiple sites in the colon, masquerading as diverticulitis, is presented. Final diagnosis was delayed until a tuboovarian abscess developed that required resection and was found to contain sulfur granules. Bacteriology, pathophysiology, and antibiotic treatment of abdominal actinomycosis is discussed. Difficulties in diagnosis are mentioned. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
