Achilles tendon chronic intratendinous tear occurs mostly in sports players due to continuous movement and repetitive strain injury. Many times, it starts with Achilles tendinosis, and if repetitive trauma persists, it may lead to intratendinous tear. Although medication and physiotherapy is a primary treatment option, interventional pain procedure with ultrasound-guided autologous platelet-rich plasma is a recent advance for the management of chronic intratendinous tear of Achilles tendon.
