Fieldwork between 2019 and 2021 for the construction of a fence in Rome (Municipio V) between via di Tor Tre Teste and via di Casa Calda, led to the discovery of some archaeological evidence, relating to a villa with its appurtenances and two necropolis from different periods. Some rooms of the villa have numerous phases of contruction. The original layout was perhaps that of a large quadrangular hall which was partially investigated, equipped with an almost perfectly preserved polychrome mosaic – with tiles of various sizes made with recycled marble material – characterized by a central panel with floral decoration bordered by three bands of casings with squares and circles inside. The dating of the phases of the villa are still under investigation, also because of the lack of stratigraphy relating to the foundations of the structures; relative chronology of the investigations and first stylistic comparisons, however, allow to propose a generic dating to the Late Antiquity.
