The article reported an exceptionally basic, electrophoretically homogeneous yG-globulin of the "myeloma type" in the serum of another patient with generalized papular mucinosis. These investigators concluded that the patient had an unusual type of myeloma, with skin involvement as the primary manifestation, and suggested that deposition of complexes of the abnormal globulin and constituents of the connective tissue ground substance caused the lesions. This report describes the results of electrophoretic and immunologic studies on the sera of five patients with papular mucinosis. |
