Abstrakt: The present investigation was carried out on thirty six postpartum anestrus cows selected from Cattle Breeding Farm, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Udgir and adjoining villages under breeding tract. The animals were randomly divided into three equal groups consisting of 12 cows in each group. The cows of group-I were treated with CIDR based protocol, group-II were administered ovsynch protocol with fixed time insemination while group-III served as untreated control to examine various biochemical parameters in cow. Blood samples were collected on day 0, 7 and 25 of treatment for serum progesterone, calcium, phosphorus and glucose levels. The differences among days 0, 7 and 25 were observed to be highly significant (p<0.01) across the groups. The serum progesterone level differed significantly (p<0.05) on day 25 in pregnant group than non-pregnant group. The serum biochemical parameters (mg/dl) like calcium (9.86±0.14 to 10.88±0.20), phosphorus (5.65±0.13 to 6.18±0.13) and glucose (48.60±1.82 to 56.8±1.37) recorded on day 0, 7 and 25 were statistically similar in all three groups, and even between pregnant and non-pregnant animals, with a few exceptions.
