Abstrakt: the content of ethanol from Balinese wine can reach above 50%. The ethanol content of Balinese wine can reach 90% if the evaporation temperature is appropriate. The combustion of high-concentration Balinese wine produces exhaust gases such as high carbon dioxide, low carbon monoxide, low oxygen and hydrocarbon gases. The combustion of the Balinese wine on the carburetor type machine shows a large specific fuel consumption level while torque and engine power are low. This study was conducted with the use of Balinese wine as a fuel and its effect on power, torque, specific fuel consumption and the residual precipitation characteristics of the combustion chamber components. Research method by carrying out Balinese wine test on 4 step engine to know and analyze its influence to performance, engine emission and sediment characteristics in combustion chamber. The results of the study that the Balinese wine has characteristics as an alternative fuel. The precipitate formed on the combustion chamber components is more than the premium, shows the components of the combustion chamber more easily corrode. Balinese wine fuel produces as many as 165 compounds while the premium fuel produces 171 compounds. The use of Balinese wine produces 7.15 Nm of engine torque and 5,606 kW of power and specific fuel consumption is 0.1172 kg / kWh. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
