The results were divided into three groups: dogs with confirmed Ehrlichiosis, dogs with confirmed Babesiosis and dogs with concurrent Babesiosis and Ehrlichiosis. The mean CHr was 24.07 in non-infected non-anemic dogs, 24.22 in non-infected anemic dogs, 24.21 in infected dogs and 24.69 in infected non-anemic animals. B Objective: b To set up a species-independent immunoassay procedure for detecting interference in serum samples, use it to screen a cross-section of dog samples from an animal hospital for interference, and to determine if the detected interference could be neutralized by using an immunoassay based on non-mammalian reagents.
