Facile synthesis of porous LiMn2O4 nano-cubes for ultra-stable lithium-ion battery cathodes.

Abstrakt: LiMn2O4 (LMO) nano-cubes with a porous structure were synthesized by a template-engaged reaction using pre-synthesized Mn2O3 porous nano-cubes as a self-sacrificing template. As a lithium-ion battery cathode material, LiMn2O4 nano-cubes with porous structure can effectively shorten the Li+ transport paths, which makes the LiMn2O4 material realize excellent Li+ extraction and insertion performance; the discharge specific capacity was 95.39 mA h g−1 with a capacity retention rate of 90.91% after 500 cycles of stabilization at a current density of 100 mA g−1. This work provides a reliable synthetic route for the synthesis of LiMn2O4 materials, which can be used as a potential solution for lithium manganate synthesis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
