The article is devoted to the issues of the effectiveness of the use of metal waterstops for waterproofing the working seam of concreting. To check the effectiveness of metal waterstops, a reinforced concrete structure was designed and then made with two working seams of concreting around the perimeter and four holes at the points of control of the watertightness of metal waterstops (junction points of various sections of metal waterstops and places without a joint). Further, a metal waterstops were placed in these working seams of concreting, and junction points of various sections of the waterstops were made in different ways, namely, on epoxy adhesive or on a sealant. At the final stage, the reinforced concrete structure was filled with water and the watertightness of these materials was checked through these holes. It turned out that the joint made on the sealant was watertight, in contrast to the joint made on the epoxy adhesive. Analysis of the results and ideas for the further use of this technology were given. Comparisons of PVC and metal waterstops were also provided. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
