Based on ground tests of the AN-2 and YAK-18T light propeller-driven aircraft, the separation of the noise of the propeller and the piston engine in the overall noise level of the power plants was performed. It is shown that the noise of the propeller dominates the overall noise of power plants operating at elevated modes. At the same time, the higher the flight altitude, the higher the contribution of the propeller noise when assessing the overall noise level of the power plant in the dBA metric.
