Lesional HS skin was analysed using RNA-sequencing to assess the predicted functional interplay between B cells and macrophages. Our findings support the idea that TGF-beta plays a key role in HS pathogenesis. It is likely that the development of tunnels and scarring in HS is closely related to a chronic activation of TGF-beta signalling. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
