THE ROLE OF LEARNING STYLES IN STUDENTS' CHOICE OF REMOTE VERSUS IN-PERSON INSTRUCTION: A COMPARATIVE STUDY.

Abstrakt: This study has three objectives. The first objective is to find out whether there are significant differences in the learning style preferences of students who chose to enroll in a remote or in-person section of an MBA Managerial Finance course taught by the same instructor in the same semester using the same topics and exams. The second objective is to find out whether there is a significant difference in the learning style preferences of female and male students who chose to enroll in a section of an MBA Managerial Finance course taught by an instructor using an inperson method. The third objective is to find out whether there is a significant difference in the learning style preferences of female and male students who chose to enroll in a section of an MBA Managerial Finance course taught by an instructor using a remote method. The results of this study revealed that there were significant differences in the learning style preferences of students who chose to enroll in a remote and in-person section of the MBA Managerial Finance course. The differences between the two groups included impulsive and reflective items, sound item, evening item and conformity item of the psychological, environmental, and emotional strands, respectively. There were also three significant differences in the learning style preferences of female and male students who chose to enroll in an in-person section of the MBA Managerial Finance course. These differences included visual word item, mobility item, and motivation item of the perceptual, psychological, and emotional strands, respectively. Finally, there were four significant differences in the learning style preferences of students who chose to enroll in a remote section of the MBA Managerial Finance course. These differences included auditory item, visual word item, auditory-verbal item of perceptual strand, and seating design item of the environmental strand. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
