In this study, chitosan (CS) encapsulated cobalt oxide nanoparticles modified with folic acid (FA) were synthesized and analyzed using different characterization techniques. A facile solvothermal method was performed to manufacture the CS-Cobalt oxide nanoparticles and FA-CS-Cobalt oxide nanoparticles. The obtained final products were subjected to X-ray diffraction spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy analyses. The UV–visible spectroscopy, Thermogravimetric and differential thermal analyses were employed to identify the optical and thermal properties of the synthesized nanoparticles. The net surface charge and the effective electric charge on the nanoparticles were determined by zeta potential analysis. The average crystallite size was calculated as 19.45 nm for chitosan-cobalt oxide nanoparticles and 16.36 nm for FA-CS-cobalt oxide nanoparticles. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
