Additional Forming of a Pipe Billet in the Production of Thick-Walled Large Diameter Pipes.

Abstrakt: Abstract—New forming methods are required for the production of high-strength thick-walled steel main pipes, since they have a higher spring coefficient and require a higher deformation force as compared to conventional thin-walled materials. A two-dimensional numerical model is considered for additional forming of a pipe billet and is implemented in the TESA 1420 line. The results of mathematical simulation and experimental tests are analyzed and compared. The causes of the deviation in the geometry of the billet are revealed, and recommendations are given for the shape of the pipe after bending on an additional forming press. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
