The paper presents a study of the influence of the amount of energy introduced by the grinding bodies on the features of the process and the physical properties of the processed powder mixture of the composition Ti – mwt % TiN. It is shown that the decrease in the average size of the resulting agglomerates depends more on the weight fraction of titanium nitride in the powder mixture, which varied from 15 to 40 weight percent; with an increase in the amount of energy introduced into the material being processed, from 450 to 5300 J/g, the average size of the agglomerates is approximately the same. It should also be noted that with an increase in the amount of input energy, the loss of the processed material, due to its lining on the surface of the grinding bodies and the walls of the vials, reaches 60 % of the initial loaded mass of the powder mixture. It is shown that the resulting agglomerates have a uniform distribution of elements, both over the surface and over the volume, which makes it possible to speak of effective cladding by the method of mechanical processing of the powder mixture in a planetary mill. In the course of work, the amount of energy introduced into the processed powder mixture was determined, at which the maximum number of particles suitable for the requirements for use as modifiers or as a sprayed material was obtained.
