Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma is a life changing disease that lacks early stages diagnosis and confirmed treatments at detection stages, which calls for round the clock need to search for answers. Natural products, specifically plant extracts and their phytochemicals hold an essential place in therapeutics from time immemorial, be it traditional therapeutics technique or modern drugs. Phytoconstituents are beneficial as they are easily taken up in the body with lower side-effects as compared to synthetic drugs but this leaves an issue of their poor availability at the site of action, and a need of a vehicle that can help them reach specific sites. This working as a vehicle is fulfilled by the nanoformulations, which act as nanovehicles and carry the cargo to specific sites and release them. Herein, we highlight such nanovehicles as carrier of phytoconstituents at pancreatic cancer sites where they show their cytotoxicity and thus reducing its deleterious effects. The phytonanoformulations control release of phytoconstituents, increases their absorption at pancreatic cancer sites which increases therapeutic effects of phytoconstituents on cancer cells. Thus, this study demonstrates how the presence of nanovehicle will boost the effects of phytoconstituents which was otherwise very mild. Hence enlightening knowledge of nanoformulations as delivery systems. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
