The article discusses research which used Species Distribution Modeling (SDM) to assess the invasion risk of Alligator gar (Atractosteus spatula), an aggressive freshwater predator species, across the global freshwater networks. Topics covered include countries and regions that are considered as potential subequatoria invasion hotspots, the global scale of species invasion in freshwater ecosystems, and recommended action for the further mitigation of this invasive species. |
