Abstrakt: Abstract—The morphology, corrosion indicators, and protective ability of the electrodeposited coatings operating on ocean-going vessels and samples with the coatings tested on the open decks of research vessels are studied. 30-μm-thick zinc and cadmium coatings without additional treatment and subjected to chromium plating are analyzed. The change in the phase composition of the corrosion products during tests for 15 months is traced. A step-by-step mechanism for the coating failure during full-scale tests has been revealed.
