Abstrakt: Industrial infrastructures like oil refineries require constant inspection and maintenance of their components to ensure their structural health condition, as well as the safety of the workers. Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) of industrial and construction structures using aerial platforms is rising as a field of interest for many studies as it presents an opportunity to facilitate the inspection of large and complex specimens. Despite the recent developments in aerial thermographic NDT inspection to feasibly detect defects; still, many limitations and challenges exist that will be addressed partially in this research. Drones' maneuver and payload capabilities attracted many companies to invest more in using them for industrial inspection and overcoming the challenges. Moreover, the autonomousity of drones assists companies in reducing inspection time and cost by lowering the number of human resources and increasing the safety of personnel by regularly performing the inspections. This paper presents the recent case studies conducted by MiViM Lab at Université Laval concerning the drone-based inspection of construction and industrial structures. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
