Abstrakt: The article focuses on the catecholamine fluorescence in primate digital arteries. The digital arteries from primates have been examined to locate sympathetic nerves using the Falck fluorescence method. This study confirms that specific catecholamine fluorescence occurs in monkey digital arteries and also demonstrates similar florescence in human digital vessels. If the density of innervation is related to the pattern of distribution of the fluorescence the intense specific fluorescence of the closely packed structures suggests that these digital vessels are subject to active sympathetic control.
