Abstrakt: The article explains the express statutory exceptions to the Posse Comitatus Act (PCA), which prohibits the use of the military for civilian law enforcement purposes in the United States. The exceptions include laws that permit the President to use military force to suppress insurrection or enforce federal authority and laws that allow the Department of Defense to provide federal, state, and local police with information, equipment, and personnel.
