Abstrakt: Aluminum-based metal matrix composite (AA7075-4wt.% TiC) is synthesized by the in-situ stir casting method, one of the cheapest technologies for producing metal matrix composites. Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) examines the presence and homogeneity of TiC reinforcements in the prepared composites. This paper presents the experimental investigation on powder-mixed electrical discharge machining (PMEDM) of AA7075-4wt. % TiC metal matrix composites. A copper tool of diameter 10 mm is used for machining the specimens using EDM oil as dielectric fluid. The influence of graphite powder suspension in dielectric fluid on Material Removal Rate and Surface Roughness, a comparative study is done using EDM and PMEDM processes. An experimental layout is designed using Taguchi L9 orthogonal array. The influence of various parameters on the material removal rate and surface roughness are investigated with the help of analysis of variance (ANOVA)and contour plots for EDM machining of AA7075-4 wt. % TiC metal matrix composites.
