The Catholic Church was still a great influence in Slovakia even at the end of the Second World War. Several titles addressing the Greek Catholic believers were published in 1945 - 1948 even though the Greek Catholic press was not as spread as the Roman Catholic press in East Slovakia. The monthly called Cyril and Methodius was one of them. It was published in 1947 - 1948 in the town of Trebisov and subtitled The Monthly of Cyril and Methodius Unity. It was printed in the printing house called Athenaeum p.n.s. in the town of Kosice. VojtechDudic became the editor-in-chief and the redactor was PolykarpOleár. The main co-worker was Sebastian Sabol. The editorial office and the administration were seated in the monastery of the Basilian Fathers in the town of Trebisov. The periodical pursued mainly religious topics, as well as various other problems. Alongside the religious articles, the magazine described the activities of Cyril and Methodius Unity since it was its press organ. The periodical dealt with the problems of Catholic schooling, the dangers of sectarian movement, and the harmfulness of alcohol. There were published short stories, legends, biographies of the saints, obituaries, and poems as well. The magazine was abolished at the end of 1948 due to the change in the political situation.
